Creating Your Account
Register as a new PIN member

PIN is a verified professional network for pain medicine specialists. Registration takes under 3 minutes, though account activation requires manual credential review (1–2 business days).

1
Navigate to the registration page
Click Sign Up in the top navigation of any PIN website page, or go directly to register.html. This takes you to the account creation form in the PIN Command Center.
2
Fill in your details
Complete all required fields. Here's what each field is for:
Full Name *
Your professional name as it will appear in the directory (e.g. Dr. Jane Smith)
Email Address *
Use your institutional or professional email — this is used for login and verification
Password *
Minimum 6 characters. Choose a strong, unique password you don't use elsewhere
Institution
Your current primary affiliated hospital, university, or practice
Job Role
Your title or position (e.g. Consultant Pain Physician, Professor, Fellow)
Country
Your country of primary practice — used for directory filtering and regional groupings
3
Click "Create Account →"
Your account will be created immediately with PENDING status. You'll be redirected to a confirmation screen. Check your inbox for a verification email.
Tip Use an institutional email address (e.g. yourname@hospital.edu). Institutional emails speed up the credential review process.
Why PIN reviews accounts PIN is a verified network — not an open signup. The PIN team manually reviews each application to confirm you are a credentialled pain medicine professional. This typically takes 1–2 business days.
Email Verification
Confirm your email address

After registering, PIN sends a verification email to confirm you own the address you signed up with. This is a quick one-click step.

1
Open the verification email
Check your inbox for an email from noreply@pin-platform.com with the subject "Confirm your PIN account". Check your spam folder if it doesn't arrive within 5 minutes.
2
Click the confirmation link
Click the blue "Confirm Email Address" button inside the email. This opens a confirmation page in your browser. Verification links expire after 60 minutes.
3
Email confirmed — await approval
Once confirmed, your email is verified. Your account remains in PENDING status until the PIN team approves your membership. No further action is needed on your part.
⚠️
Link expired? If your verification link has expired, sign in to the Command Center and request a new verification email from your account settings, or contact support.
Account Approval
What happens during credential review

During the approval window, PIN reviews your application to confirm your professional credentials. Here's what the process looks like from both sides.

1
Credential verification
The PIN team verifies that you are a licensed and credentialled pain medicine professional. This may involve cross-referencing your institutional affiliation, specialty, and online professional presence (e.g. PubMed, hospital directory).
2
Approval decision
Applications are typically reviewed within 1–2 business days. Applicants in specialties outside pain medicine may be reviewed with additional scrutiny or invited to clarify their role.
3
Approval notification
You'll receive an email confirming your account is approved. Your account status changes from PENDING to ACTIVE, and you can now access the full PIN platform.

Dashboard Overview
Navigating the PIN Command Center

The PIN Command Center is a web application that organises the platform's tools into clearly defined sections. Here's a map of what's where.

Directory
Browse and search the full PIN physician network. Filter by country, specialty, or institution. View member profiles and send connection requests.
Analytics
Clinical intelligence dashboards — outcome benchmarks, treatment response distributions, and network-level statistics derived from the PIN registry.
Pharmacovigilance
Drug safety monitoring tools — adverse event reporting, signal detection, and real-world evidence contribution for pain medications.
Research
Access to shared clinical datasets, registries, and collaborative research tools. Requires specific research permissions.
Profile
Your directory listing, professional details, privacy settings, and notification preferences.
Start with the Directory For most new members, the Directory is the most immediately useful section. You can browse colleagues' profiles, see their research, and make connection requests before your own profile is fully built out.

Completing Your Profile
Your listing in the physician directory

Your profile is your professional presence in the PIN network. A complete profile helps colleagues find you, understand your work, and initiate collaborations.

1
Open Profile Settings
Click your avatar or name in the top-right corner and select Edit Profile, or navigate directly to /profile/settings in the Command Center.
2
Add a profile photo
Upload a professional headshot (JPEG or PNG, minimum 200×200px). Your photo appears in the directory listing and alongside your activity in the platform. Members with photos receive significantly more connection requests.
3
Complete your professional details
Expand each section to fill in the details that matter most to your colleagues:
Credentials
Degrees, board certifications, and fellowship designations (e.g. MD PhD, FFPMANZCA, FRCPC)
Specialties
Pain subspecialties — neuromodulation, ozone therapy, perioperative, neuropathic pain, etc.
Bio
A 2–4 sentence professional summary — your clinical focus, research interests, and what you bring to the network
Publications
Link your PubMed profile or ORCID ID to surface your research in the directory
Languages
Languages you can communicate in — useful for international collaborations
4
Save changes
Click Save Profile at the bottom of the form. Changes appear in the directory immediately for ACTIVE accounts.
Profile completeness Profiles with a photo, bio, specialties, and credentials filled in appear higher in directory search results and are more likely to receive connection requests from colleagues.
The Physician Directory
Search, filter, and connect with colleagues

The Physician Directory is the heart of the PIN network — a searchable, filterable listing of all credentialled member physicians across 40+ countries.

1
Navigate to Directory
Click Directory in the Command Center sidebar. All active members are shown by default, ordered by name.
2
Search by name or institution
Use the search bar at the top to find a specific physician by name, or type an institution (e.g. Johns Hopkins) to see all members affiliated with that organisation.
3
Apply filters
Use the filter panel to narrow results by Country, Specialty, or Research Area. Filters can be combined — e.g. Neuromodulation specialists in Asia-Pacific.
4
View a member's profile
Click any member card to open their full profile — credentials, institution, bio, specialties, publications, and contact options.
5
Send a connection request
Click Connect on any member's profile to send a connection request. Once accepted, you gain access to their contact details (if they've opted to share them with connections).
Public website vs. Command Center directory The public pain-leaders.html page shows a curated subset of featured PIN leaders. The full directory inside the Command Center includes all verified members and is only accessible to ACTIVE accounts.
